Just another friendly reminder, my latest collection of poems “The Slums of Nightfall” has been published and it is available for purchase on Amazon. It’s a book that covers a wide range of topics. Most of the poems revolve around the subject of mental health, specifically  my ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression. The book is not about a literal slum. It is about a state of mind a person can reach, when they lie awake at night, contemplating the world around them. It is about the wee hours of the morning, when your home has fallen silent and you are left to be wide awake with your memories. Each poem is a part of larger story; a story about wrestling with your fears and insecurities, and the slow and gradually journey toward loving and accepting yourself. Amazon  Author Page

My latest collection of poetry has been published! I never thought I would get to type those words. But today is that day. My dream has become a reality and I could not have achieved this without all of your help. The constant feedback and words of encouragement are apart of what motivates me to write these poems. This is the beginning of a truly exciting chapter. Let’s just see what happens next..

Shape-Shifting Moments

Nothing is known for certain
All the moments shape-shift
And evolve into occurrences
Not known

The greater wilderness consumes
Every morsel of each day
The further, we voyage
The further, we dare

Nothing
Is perceived in full
Every mile’s a mere glance
An irregular guess

As we slowly implode
And the wilderness
Defiantly expands

Heavenly Bronze

My plundering eyes
Have had their fill of delight
A display, of heavenly bronze

In her auburn swoops I dissolved
And drowsed to her thrill
Among fools who have slouched
To the depths of mankind

Shame
On these plundering eyes
That have had their fill
In a deep and devious silence

Reconvened with Loss

No words in the arms of loss
The awaited embrace
Death-ridden and black

A ferocious wind
Startles, the complacent mind
And the envy unfurls in flames

No words for the shroud of her verse
So mindfully forged, in the past
At the paramount
Of soft-hearted fools

No words can trespass
Through the hub of despair
Of the precious
The young and unknowing

A Devilish Hunger

A need I’ll never surpass
A crossfire through the mind
Of mortality’s men

By day a mere phantom
By night a beast
An impassable ghost
That plagues
That thieves

A devious fog
The scourge of the young
The quieting of the mind
The coil, the decay

Lost logic must scream
In a raft of misdeeds
For the southern-bound fools
Who ravage
In the heart of their faulted peace

Where the Roads Unravel

She resides in my every whim
Where reality frays
To a kindhearted mist

The full days spill
Into a joyous trek
To her clouded domain
All encompassing and sweet

She defiantly dwells
In my passing wants
Not yet fully known
And treasured by dawn

I faintly thrive
On the morsels of hope
For these hollow roads
To surrender her name

A Cool and Awaited Embrace

Her champagne
Is a charming brook
A home for my ills
For their silent demise

How she courses so cold
In each sun-ravaged spell
Racing, unhinged
My heaven-sent escape

Within I dissolve
And chatter into dusk
Inwoven in lust
By her blistering delight

Yet it all unfolds
So sudden and shrill
A transient peace
A climb and frantic decline

In Lust

I crave
Into agony’s embrace
And froth with distress
Until mayhem
Derails my stride

In lust
So clouded and feral
I simmer enraged
Consumed in unrest

To be warmly kept
By the callous and stern
Yet driven afar
To my sanity’s brink

Till the seams of my comfort
All fray and displace
Till madness enthralls
My southern-bound path
