The chemicals surge
Like the riptide each dawn
Veering left then right

And my skin and bones
Become hatred’s kind host

Coming down, is a hopeless endeavor
So I fly high and blind through the days,
First frantic, then simmering, then silent

Until I’m drenched, by silver-sun showers
Docile and cool
Then I fade out with sorrow
In the seas below

Onward it goes
Rushing, this bag of bones along
Till the lap of the waves
Has left me, broken and twisted
On the shorelines of dusk
