I am followed by a chorus of laughter
As I’m dragged from the wreckage
From beneath the minced words I’ve spilled
In a rush

Humiliation thrives
Like a slow malignant growth
And the actions and the anthems of this life
Are sure to dissolve

I am wholly consumed by those moments
As I thrash in their murdering arms
At a memory’s command
